ARMY SPORTS
PARADE
The Tommy Atkins Spotlight this week features sporting personality who has more than earned any praise this column can offer. Unfortunately the occasion for selecting Captain Bil Voitch, Royal Engineers, follows the news that after nearly two years of strenuous effort he is banding over the team manager's duties of the Army first and second XI football teams,

To Score The
The Goals
By TOM FINNEY
Tommy Taylor, strong big-hearted Manchester United and England centre-forward, has, in recent weeks, found himself in the middle of a controversy about his style of play. Tommy should worry! Those of us who have played with laughing Tom know what a great asset he is on the field of play. Yet I know how he must feel about these criticisms. I have been in the same position myself. A few years ago, for no apparent reason, I found myself assailed by a certain section of opinion who didn't seem to want Tom Finney at any price.
But I wonder why It Is that centre-forwards seem to come under the mircroscope of pubile criticism more than any other posilon-with the possible x- ception goalkeeper.
