RAF Islanders Take On The 48 Brigade
By "PAK LO"
Due to the Defence Force holding its annual camp this week-end, and the Macao Grand Prix being also in the limelight, the Club is unable to turn out either an "A" or a "B" XV this Saturday for the first time for ages.
However, by dint of scraping the barrel, a Club XV of a sort will appear and will
play not "the" Navy but "a" Navy XV at 3.00 p.m. on the Club ground.
The Club "A" Garrison maich, which would of Course have been this afternoon's bly attraction, has been postponed until Wednesday evening when 11 will take place on the Club ground under floodlights, but of the titanic struggle more union. "Young Hongkong" Should Have That Fourth Game Against Visitors
Says I. M. MacTAVISH
Several times since last Sunday it has been suggested to*
me that after what happened in the Eastorn - Kicheo gamo I should launch a press campaign for the intro- duction of substitutes în Colony League matches. Some people seem to believe that the circumstancos developing from Ko Po-keung's injury in the early minutes of the game form the ideal basis for a new advocation of substitutes.
Personally I do not agree. I will even go further and say that if ever there was an almost complete denunciation of the policy of sub- stitution then it was given by the Eastern players themselves. If what they served up was football without the luxury of the iniquitous and blatantly abused substitute rule then I'll strike my vote for it every time.
