Facts which emerge from the latest report of the Director of Marine show that in this mechanised age almost a quarter of the cargo landed in the Colony from foreign destinations comes by junk.
Junks in this case include both salt and engine-driven junks.
The bulk of this cargo came from Canton, West River and Canton River Delta ports and Macne. A small amount eame from East and West China coast ports,
