Peking, Sept. 25. China foreign trade is resuming its activi ties; this is the im- pression gathered in Peking among various trade delegations and businessmen from all .countries at present engaged in economic and trade discussions with different China foreign trade officials.

Surprised

They arrived in Peking with the impression that economic difficulties had led China to slow down the tempo of their imports of foreign goods. The vialtors have been pleasantly sur- prised to find that China seemed to have resumed its policy of foreign trade ex- pansion but, however, on totally different basis than in previous years.

There are at present in Pek- ing and in China four trado delegations, German, Japanese, French and Moroccan. Leading trade circles of Tunisia and Italy are also represented, to- gether with Swiss exporters.

A round-up of these delegn- tony

general impressions leads

to certain number of common observations which are interest- Ing clues of what may become China's foreign trade policy in the coming years.

Observations

First of these observa- Mona is the extensive knowledge of foreign markets! conditions and techniques no- quired these last three yesen by Chinese officials, who have become remarkabla debalerm and skilled negotiators.

The second observation the complete dis- appearance of political aspecia which for the past three years have dominated some of the agreements reached through long and protracted negotia- sions, sandwiched with slogans of peace and coexistence.

The third observation is that although 16 is still kept a aberet, The Chinese Government has drawn up the general principles on which It is going to build its economie policy for 1986 and perhapa for 1959.

Forclen trade officials ap- pear to know their possiblil- fles and the targets to be achieved through present ne- gotiations,
