Suggestions that the German Federal Bank should advance the money cannot be carried out because present legislation forbids such advance payment. However, it is still expected that some arrangement to provide the money will have to be made with the Federal Bank, perhaps in co-operation with the government-controlled Reconstruction Loan Corpora- tion. But this will require difficult negotiations which may well last until next year,

The present Government and its Economic Minister have repeatedly denied that a revaluation was planned, and in view of the electoral support they have received, there is no reason this attitude should be changed.-- China Mail Special.
