IMPORTED RUBBER FOOTWEAR UNDER FIRE IN CANADA
Ottawa, June 19.
The Tariff Board has said that foreign sup. pliers of waterproof footwear and rubber-soled canvas footwear could undersell Canadian pro- ducers because of low wage rates abroad. But, the Board added, the Canadian consumer sermed satis- fled with the foreign product both as to quality and particularly as to price.
The Board reached this con- clusion in a 48-page report sub- mitted to the Finance Minister, Mr Walter Harris, 1st March 14, made public on June 14,
