WANCHAI BOYS AND GIRLS ARE SHORTER AND LIGHTER THAN NORMAL CHILDREN OF THE SAME AGE, ACCORDING TO THE ANNUAL REPORT FOR ST JAMES SETTLEMENT RELEASED THIS MORNING.

Boys are two to four inches shorter and 2% to 11 lbs lighter and girls are two to six inches shorter and 6 to 161⁄2 lbs lighter than normal, the report states.

These discoveries were made by a group of Hongkong University students following a study of 160 typical Wanchai children.
