"Between Two Worlds" is the title of the first of seven programmes which tell the story of the life of Albert Schweitzer, who has lived for eighty-two years between the vineyards of Alsace and the steaming tropical jungle of the Congo.
A man of many talents who can build a hospital, treat a patient for leprosy, preach a sermon and play the organ, Dr Schweitzer still labours in the cause of humanity, for which he gave up a brilliant career in Europe as a theologian, philosopher and musician to found the now famous hospital at Lambarene in French
Africa.

operalle soprano, "La Maria Callas, in Verdi's Forza del Destino" (The Force of Destiny), Acts 1 and 2, with
orchestra of L singers and Scala Opera House, Milan,
The tragic main action of this opera, though often interrupted by interesting but dramatically irrelevant and merely picture- sque episodes, results in scenes of high poetry with melodious arlas and duets that are among Verdi's finest, although the opera is not one of his best known.
