"Between Two Worlds" is the title of the first of seven programmes which tell the story of the life of Albert Schweitzer, who has lived for eighty-two years between the vineyards of Alsace and the steaming tropical jungle of the Congo.

A man of many talents who can build a hospital, treat a patient for leprosy, preach a sermon and play the organ, Dr Schweitzer still labours in the cause of humanity, for which he gave up a brilliant career in Europe as a theologian, philosopher and musician to found the now famous hospital at Lambarene in French

Africa.
