Triad Society: Conviction Quashed
A conviction for being a member of a Triad society was quashed by Mr Justice A. D. Scholes at the Appeals Court this morning because it had not been proved that the Fuk Yee Hing Society was a Triad organisation.
The appellant, To Ma-ching, walked out of the dock towards the Court entrance, but was stopped when Mr G. R. Sneath, Crown Counsel, said he was being held on A Magistrate's warrant on another matter.
The Judge said the appellant | society in question was a Triad was discharged only insofar as society, the Triad scelety charge concerned, but that the Court had not ordered his release.
