The Soviet Union's entry into the field of inter- national sport has developed rapidly in recent years. But there is still one major sport in which little is known about Russian activities, and that is horse racing.

Some interesting facta about racing in Russia have come from Mr George Forbes, the British Jockey Club auctioneer and Epsom veterinary surgeon, who has re- turned from a crowded six-day visit to the Soviet Union.
