Twelve world records have been broken in this Olympic Year in the standard athletic events and five equalled. The total record toll, including records for the distance runs among these one for the 30 Miles by Bob Pape in Hongkong-is much bigger than that. This total also excludes the women's events in which several world records have been broken.
