Young Bobby Wilson Gives British Tennis Its Biggest Boost In Two Decades

London, June 27.

Bobby Wilson, 20-year-old Londoner, gave British tennis its biggest boost for two decades when he beat 1950 Wimbledon Champlon Budge Patty in the second round of the Men's Singles at Wimbledon tonight.

He beat his fourth seeded opponent by 12-10, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4./ - Wilson, who does not even command a singles berth in the British Davis Cup team, played an inspired all-court attacking game to wear down the debonair Parisian-American.

Palty, usually one of the most artistic and complete players in the amateur game, was busted cut of his rhythmic stroking by the supert volleying and aston- ishing retrieving of Wilson.

Earlier on this day of shocks the third seeded player in the draw, Sven Davidson of Sweden. who is regarded as Europe's No. 1. had been eliminated in five sets by Ashley Cooper, 18- year-old Australian Handcourt Champion.
