Beirut, June 20, One of the biggest and most colourful society weddings to take place here this year was solemn- ised today when Mr Derek John Renshaw Blaker, son of the Hon. Cedric Blaker and Mrs Blaker of Hongkong, and Miss Marie Francoise Qunoiam de Schompre, step-daughter of Mr John Kynaster Phipps Hadland, Managing Director of Shell Company, and daughter of Mrs Hadland (nec Mlle de Malherbe), were married.

The religious ceremony took place at St Louis Cathedral and was attended by all of Beirut's leading residents, some of whom are personalities well-known internationally.
