England, Why Not MCC?

BY ALEX BANNISTER

Peter May's appointment as England's captain in this season's defence of the Ashes an obvious choice in the minds of the selectors and the public—an unusual alliance --was confirmed when he was called from the field during Surrey's game with the Australians to help choose the MCC team to tackle the tourists at Lord's,

This was significant and makea it all the more dificult to

A little bit of heresy here and there never bothers me. To find it in Wisden* at the start of the cricket season is, to say the least, surprising and exciting.
