Giant Slalom Event Attracts Big Crowd At Cortina D'Ampezzo
Cortina D'Ampezzo, Jan. 29.
The Giant Slalom attracted the greatest crowds at Cortina D'Ampezzo today. The specta- tors were not disappointed. They saw for a brief moment one of the most remarkable performances of this type ever made-Tony Salier's run.
The 20-year-old Tony, a good-looking and cheerful lad, was the hero of the day. Although his spectacular show was one of the first in a long series of slaloms, few doubted he would win the event after his time had been announced.

NOT A GOOD ONE
This picture may strike photographers as a good one, but hi ders not represent a good javella throw. This was one that went very high and landed not too for away from the thrower.
Most of the throwers at the HKAAA Noviets' Champion- ships at Caroline Hili yesterday excelled largely in a good throwing arm, none of them in technique,
If they had ever watched Neville Hughes on the same ground, they would have wẹn the wonderful grouping that a good javello thrower can achieve,

Great Double For "Iron Man" Boorman
By “RECORDER”
Greatest performance in the HKAAA Novices' Championships at Caroline Hill Stadium yesterday was, undoubtedly, that of "Iron Man" Peter Boorman of 173 Locating Battery, RA, and the HKAAC, who scored a fine double in capturing the 400 Metres and 800 Metres runs in 54.4 seconds and 2 minutes 3.9 seconds from fields of Colony Cham- pionship strength.

By “PAK LO”
After a ding-dong struggle on Saturday afternoon with the for- tunes of the game swaying first to one side and then to the other, the Club emerged the victors over the Police by 12 points (1 try, 1 penalty goal, 2 dropped goals) to 8 points (1 goal, I penalty goal) mainly by the fine kicking of the Club fly half, O'Kelly, whose efforts have lately pulled the Club out of a couple of tight spots.
Credit for the Club win must also go to full back Roberts who was mainly instrumental in stifling the strong Police attacking moves with some excellent covering and tackling.
