NEW DEFINITION OF A NOVICE ATHLETE ADOPTED BY HKAAA

By “RECORDER”

The Executive Committee of the Hongkong Amateur Athletic Asso- viation at its monthly meeting at the Education Department yesterday unamme, ly voted a new definition of a "novice" athlete eligible to parti- cipate in the HKÄÂÄ Noviers' Championships to be held at Caroline Hill Stadium on Sunday, January 29.

The meeting also decided that there seemed to he no further point in plan- ning to send any Hongkung athlete to Melbourne as, while there were one or two local athletes who might have been worth sending, it Wax improbable that they

would reach the standard required. This does not mean that all plans to send 2151 athlete to Melbourne are finally abandoned, but it is most unlikely that anyone will be sent.
