Liza'a (Wagner); love signed on as crew members of the "Northern Sceptre", one of the newest deep sea trawlers out of Grimsby for a voyage to Arctic waters. During twenty days at sea, they made recordings out of which they compiled "Arctic Trawler" the feature programme which will be heard at 9.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
When
"Arctic Trawler" tells of the lives of men who work as a team and who, during the main part of their job are at work 18 hours a day, shooting and hauling the trawl. gutting and packing the catch in ice in the fish-ponds below.
a radio message from the trawler company recalls the ship, there is still plenty of preparation and clean- ing to be done before, once again, she reaches port after a voyage of over 3,000 miles.
John Slater is the narrator, in "Arctic Trawler" and the incidental music is composed by Henry Reed
