A Great Double

A magnificent double by Craigengower Cricket Club formed the

main highlight of the weekend Lawn Bowls League games.

Ten times winners of the Senior Division League title since its inception in 1910, the Valley Club signalled its return to the fore ranks of local Lawn Bowls with a resounding 4-1 triumph over League-leading Kowloon Cricket Club in the First Division and followed this up with an equally brilliant 4-1 triumph over top-placed Taikoo in the Second Division.

British riders set up new track records in all three today's Belgian Grand Prix molar cycling events on the fast Francorchamps track.

But despite the records only one Briton, Bill Lomas, leader in the 350 cc World Championship classification, won his race while setting up a new record.
