The prosecution charges that Sergeant Frederick Emmett-Dunne, 32, struck Sergeant Reginald Watters, 30, a fatal blow across the throat, then rigged his body to make it appear a case of suicide by hanging.
He married Mia Watters, a former night club singer, seven monthi after her husband's death in November, 1953, had been certified as suicide. Emmett-Dunne, a handsome grey-haired soldier, was arrested after a re-examination into the death early this year.
