Hong Kong, May 18, 1955,

To ADVERTISERS

Psychotherapy is recommended as the best means of curing such people.

In time of economic de. pression, there is less absentee- ism, since fear of dismissal induces a man to stay at work even if he feels slightly unwell.

AFFORD LUXURY Conversely, in time of bosm and full employment, the worker can afford the luxury of absenteeism through slight illness, knowing that his employer needs him and in any case he can easily get another Job,

Ölder people, now employed on a larger scale than before, are more liable to illness than younger workers, and this again tends to send up the absenteeism igures

Medical science is partly ị responsible for absenteeism, the report says. "Modern therapy aims not only at a quick but also at a complete recovery, and mary modern treatments demand close diagnosis, which takes time.
