The Agriculture Department yesterday fixed the size of the 1951 cotton crop at 13,679,000 bales. The value of the crop, based on the season average price to May 1 of 33.77 cents a pound, was about $2,802,000,000. This compared with 1953 crop value of $2,652,000,000. The 1958 average price was 32.24 cents a pound.
