Teams To Track Down Outbreaks Of Polio

The government announced tonight that it is setting up a nation- wide polio "intelligence network" to help track down and curb outbreaks of the dread discase.
The plan, which calls for teams of medical experts to be rushed to epidemic areas, was unveiled as four more youngsters who had re- ceived the Salk vaccine were listed as polio victims. Three of the cases were reported from Los Angeles and one from Columbus, Georgia.
The Los Angeles, cases involved the Cutter vaccine, which has been with. drawn from use pending an inquiry. The Georgia case involved another vaccine. and the government did not ban the firm's output on the grounds that one case was insufficient reason.
