MAUSOLEUM

But Traces Of The Monarchy Are Being Removed

Belgrade, Apr.: 9.

The Communist authorities in a' central Serbian village are preparing the mausoleum of the Karadordjevic dynasty, former kings of Serbia and Yugoslavia, for summer tourists.

Gardeners have taken advantage of the mild winter to trim hedges and prune trees in the park surrounding the Byzantine-style church on Oplenac hill, which houses the remains of the Royal family. Here are the tombs of the original Kara-Djordje ("Black George"), who liberated Serbia from the Turka 150 years ago, down to King Alexander, assassinated at Marseilles, in

1934.
