HONGKONG WINS FIRST TWO MATCHES IN ASIAN TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Singapore, Dec. 13,
The Hongkong team, a late arrival for the tournament, went into artion in the Asian Table Tennis Championships here today, first accounting for Malaya 5-1 and then beating India 5-2.
There was a major upset in the first match when ranking Hongkong player Sth Su-chu lost to the little known Malay an, Saw Chong-pek, in three sets.
The Hongkong team arrived in Singapore late today, due to aircraft engine trouble, They barely had time to rush to their hotel for a short rest and then on to the tournament grounds Badminton Singapore
