APPEAL BY U.S. AMBASSADOR
New York, Oct. 14..
Mr Winthrop Aldrich, United States Ambas sador to Britain, warned today that Japan must be taken back into the Western society of trading nations on a fair basis.
In a speech to the New York Board of Trade, Mr Aldrich cited Japan as a reason why the United States would have to do all it could to promote a high level of world trade.
Japan, he said, should be able to earn her own living without unusual subsidies.
"To accomplish this, thero must be a concerted effort in
the free world to make for perhaps an additional $500,000 worth of annual Japanese *** ports during the next years," said Mr Aldrich.
