Australia Will Press World Shipbuilders

For A Review Of Imperial Preference

Melbourne, Sept. 28.

Two Australian Cabinet Ministers are leaving for London in October to press for a review of the Empire preference system which they claim favours Britain at the expense of Australia, authoritative sources here say. The Ministers

will head an Australian party at the London Commonwealth Conference preceding the General Meeting on GATT late in October.

The Ministers are Mr John McEwen for Commerco and Agriculture, and Senator Neil O'Sullivan for Trade and Cus- toma.

The snurres said the Ministers will preson proposals strongly favouring the retention of Em- pire preference and will seek Commonwealth support for

Running Out of Orders

For the past eighteen months shipbuilders in ́almost every country in the world have been | building ships at a considerably faster rate than
