London, Sept. 18. There is little doubt left in informed circles that convertibility, once scheduled for next spring, has been indefinitely postponed.
Mr R. A. Butler, the British Chancellor of the Exchequer, himself dampened the final hope. Speaking on his departure for America, where he is to attend the meeting of the International Monetary Fund, he listed again the famous three conditions for convertibility.
We had gone
