Wide Range Buy Japanese Being Debated
In United States
Washington, Sept. 9.
A wide range of alternatives to the European Defence Community are now being debated in formally in the United States press and in 'official and diplomatic circles in Washington.
Whilst the great debate grows in intensity, the policy of the Eisenhower Administration for the moment is to allow the dust to settle after the bitter international controversies surrounding France's rejection of EDC and to permit European opinion to crystallise before committing the United States to any of the numerous and frequently ingenious proposals now being canvassed in Washington and in the other capitals of the North Atlantic countries.
