Exhibition Of Chinese Finger Painting

The artist works on one of his paintings, whilst his wife, who prepares the colours, looks on, at an exhibition of The Hua (Chinese finger painting) by the Singapore artist, Wu Tɛat-yen, at the Imperial Institute, South Kensington, London. So far as is known, this is the first exhibition and demonstration in England, or indeed in any Western country, of a very ancient Chinese art of which today there are few accomplished exponents. Mr Wu is, in fact, probably the only artist in the world who paints exclusively by this method. He uses his right fore-finger main- ly, and his pictures done on scrolls, are in the classical oriental style. Express
