Strong Stand Taken By Mendes-France In The Assembly
Paris. July 7.
French Premier Pierre Mendes-France, in his declaration before the National Assembly today, has obviously addressed his remarks beyond deputies, to the allies of France, to the leaders of the Indo-China Associated States, and in unmis- takable terms to the Vietminh.
This was the opinion which prevailed in the corridors of the Assembly after the brief session during which the Premier re-affirmed forcefully his position.

RUSSIAN RESOLUTION BEFORE UN. COUNCIL
New York, July 7.
The Soviet delegation to the United Nations today published a resolution putting forward pro- teats by the Marshall Islanders against damage done by recent American hydrogen bomb tests in the Pacific.
The resolution "invites" the United States Government, which administers the Marshall Islands as a trust territory, to test no more hydrogen or atom bombs there; to compensate the population for property damage it has suffered; and to restore to the people their "full rights" to ownership and use of the territory.
The resolution will be before the Petitions Com- mittee of the Trusteeship Council when it begins dis. cussion of the complaint later this week.
