Two appeals against conviction and severity of sentences imposed by Magistrates were allowed, and seven others were dismissed by the Puisne Judge, Mr Justice J. R. Gregg, at the Appeal Court this morning.

The successful appellants were Lam Hei-loi, who was convicted of larceny from person and common assault, and given a total of 10 months; und Lam Yung, who had been given 16 months on three charges of fraudulent conversion.
