The Royal Tour has ended. Today, Queen Trafalgar Square Elizabeth the Second and the Duke of Edinburgh return triumphantly to the Homeland after their Commonwealth Journey which, starting last November, has covered nearly 50,000 miles and has taken them right around the world.

The people of Britain have planned a royal welcome for their returning Sovereign, and, for a day, the London seene will call to mind the joy and colour of the Coronation.

The BBC has planned to broadcast a complete sound picture of the Royal Return from the time the Royal Yacht Britannia picks up her escort off the South Coast of England to the State Drive through London these commen- ending at Buckingham Palace. All
