McCarthy Wants Lie Detectors At Public Inquiry

Four soldiers of the Royal Norfolk Regiment were charged before Mr Justice Wicks at Victoria District Court this morning with assaulting a tax-cyclist in the New Territories on January 11 th year.

They were Private Lewis Williams, Lance-Corporal Patrick Giles, Private Alfred George Swallow and Private Charles Pollard, all stationed at Lowu Camp in the Sheung Shui area, and are charged with assaulting with intent to rob a taxi-cyclist called Chan Wing-hing.
