A number of U.S. Congressmen said today they saw in the Big Four decision to include Red Ching in a Far East peace conference at Geneva the possibility that the U.S. Government might recognise the Peking regime and permit its entry into the United Nations.
Senator Richard B. Russell (Georgia), ranking Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said: "If this is the entering wedge to recognition of Red China, if it Involves admission of Red China to the United Nations, I think it's an drwise move. But if it only means an effort is made to arrive at some clear understanding for peace in the Far East, I'm not against it.”
