The Japanese Government has borrowed £000,000 from London
banks, a usually well-informed scarce in the city of London, said today.
As security for the sterling borrowed, the Japanese Govern- ment has deposited an equal amount of dollars in New York 10 the credit of the London banks. At the end of threo montha London will pay back the dollars and Japan the Sterling.
