BRING 10 MILLION
TO BATHE IN THE GANGES
Allahabad, Jan. 19.
Nearly 10,000,000 pilgrims, including "Sadhus," and "San- yasis," (monks), from all over India are expected here before March to bathe in the waters of the Ganges, the Hindu sacred river.
For, from January 14 until March 3, the Kumbh Mela, the great Hindu religious bathing Festival, which takes place only every 12 years, is being held at the confluence of the rivers Ganges, Jamuna and the in- visible Saraswati, near here.
Among distinguished pilgrims will be Dr Rajendra Prasad, India's President, and Mr Jawaharlal Nehru, the Prime Minister, some State Governors, and a number of Central and State Ministers. Some foreign Ambassadors are also expected to visit the Festival.
