Foreign Office Ends Fresh Misconception Of British Intentions
London, Nov. 23.
THE CHINA MAIL, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 1953.
The Foreign Tee today dismissed suggestions that British forces on the Contineni would be placed under the command of the European Army in the event of a war or under any other circumstances.
A spokesman said it remained British policy not to merge her forces in Europe with the EDC though provisions had been made for their closest possible co-operation with the Defence Community.
A British Press report claimed earlier today that Britain was rrády, in the event of a war, to place the British Army of the Rhine under The Commander of the EDC who would be a Frenchman, probably Marshal Alphonse Juin.
