Still Desires To Meet Malenkov Last Bid To Break Deadlock Between East And West

London, Nov. 10.

Sir Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister, is expected in some: political quarters to press once more at the three-power conference in Bermuda next month for a meeting with M. Malenkov, in a last bid to break the deadlock between the East and West over the future of Europe. His warning to Parliament last week that a meeting between the heads of Government might lead to a "worse deadlock" than that at present was generally, interpreted as meaning that he was having second thoughts about his original plea for such a conference.

But last night he again stressed the importance of making contact, formal or informal, "which might be helpful."
