Before a large and distinguished gathering-of shipping officials, the first post-war foreign flag ocean-going vessel to be built by the Taikoo Dockyard and Engineering Company of Hongkong, the my Henrik, was successfully launched by Mrs J. Eitzen, wife of the Hongkong Manager of Messrs Thoresen & Co., Ltd., at Quarry Bay this morning in brilliant sun- shine and to the accompaniment of exploding firecrackers.

One of two similar vessels being built by the Taikoo Dockyard for Messrs Bruugaard Kiosterud & Co., of Drammen, Norway, the Henrik is She has an overall length of 277 feet, a breadth of 2,000 deadweight tons. moulded of 42 ft 6 in, a depth moulded to shelter deck of 25 ft and depth moulded to upper deck of 16 ft. Her bale capacity of holds and 'tween decks is approximately 182,000 cubic feet.
