pur- chased to replace the obsolete vertical one. Pipes were buried in the wall. Numerous window frames, which had been a con trasting colour, were painted same shade as the wail. This helped relieve the room of its chopped-up appearance and created a feeling of unbroken wali' space.

Old-fashioned high radiators throughout the house were re- placed with new, low ones. - In- an upstairs bedroom, a shelf built over the new low radia- wr turned & corner into a smali desk.

HIGH RADIATORS certainly can spoll a wall. Break- ing into the space between two windows, this one stands out like a sore thumb.
