CORONATION DRAGON IS ENDOWED WITH "LIFE" This Morning's Ceremony

Application of hot blood from the head of a rooster to the eyes of the Dragon by the Secretary for Chinese Affairs, the Hon R. R.. Todd, endowed the Chinese Community's Coronation Golden Dragon with “life” at the Tin Hua Temple this morning.

The Dragon, 180-feet long, will form the main attraction at the Coronation Procession tomorrow.

The rooster was bled, but not killed, at a table a few feet away from Mr Todd. The blood was dripped into a silver container mixed with cinnabar, while clashing cymbals drowned the bird's piteous moan.
