COMBINED CHINESE BEAT
SINGAPORE 4-2 IN FINAL MATCH OF SERIES
By "SPIV".
The Singapore Interport soccer team concladed their 1952-1953 series of matches in Hongkong yesterday by sustaining their second de- feat in three matches when they lost to the Combined Chinese by four goals to two.

For the first 12 minutes of the second half both tcumn had almost an equal share of the number of missed chancen and it was only in the last eight minutes of play that the Com- uined Chinese broke through the deadlock with two quick

In the course of his speech at the official dinner given by the Hongkong Football Association to the visiting Singapore Interport soccer team at the Hongkong Football Club Clubhouse last night, the Hon, Sir Arthur. Morse, President of the Association, expressed the hope that those who were controlling the game in Singapore and Hong- kong would always try to keep before them the ideals of sportsmanship.
The Hon. T. L. Bowring, Director of Public Works, who replied on behalf of the guests, made reference to the Stadium to be erected at Sookunpoo and said that the detailed plans, specifications, contract drawings and other documents were almost complete and that the new Stadium would be ready before the start of the 1964 Soccer
