The foundations of one of the earliest churches in Britain, capable of holding no more than 20 people, have been unearthed in the sanc tuary of Wren's famous Church of St. Bride, Fleet-street, London.
This discovery was made by workmen pre- paring for rebuilding operations. Their picks struck something solid.
