By TOM FINNEY
This is the season of bold resolutions, high hopes and good wishes. With only a few days remaining in 1952, I give you some of my thoughts for 1953.
HERE'S HOPING that Preston win the Cup. A personal, almost selfish. wish, I know, because many of you have equally passionate ambitions about your own clubs. But apart, perhaps, from that first game for one's national side, to win a Cup medal is the highest desire of every professional footballer. It is certainly

Sedgman Annoyed At The News Leaking Out
Sydney.
Resentrient is growing against Wimbledon Champion Frank Sedgman in official quarters here because of the considered certainty that he will turn professional as soon as the Davis Cup tie is concluded at the end of the month.
Sedgman himself is annoyed at the news, leaking from the Taxation Depart- ment that he has applied for taxation clearance to leave the country on January 3. He is threatening legal action because of leakage of private information.
Seduman says he has applied for clearance "Just in case. It is needed,"
Meanwhile many who sup ported. Sedgman previously and were concerned less than a year ago in presenting his wife with a handsome wedding glit are annoyed that he probably will after all turn professional.
