Are Speeding Up World Development World

London, Dec. 11.

No-country in the world can achieve economic advancement with- out constant addition to its stock of Industrial equipment.

Some, like Britain, are in the happy position of being able to provide most of the equipment needed for this purpose from their own

resources.

Others, however, look to the more industrially developed countries to supply a large proportion of their development needs.

As. primary-producing coun-I irics like Canada, Australia and India proceed with schemes of capital development and build up a considerable capacity to produce consumer goods, more and

of their demands for more imports are concentrated In capital equipment.

And this tendency has been reflected stendily in the United Kingdom's export figures, says

the Treasury in its monthly Bulletin for Industry

Since the war, U.K. exports of investment goods have been

growing by comparison with the physical resources put into home investment.
