Fifteen natives were killed and 27 wounded today, when police fired on a large crowd of Kikuyu tribesmen at Kirawara in the Fort Hall reserve area of Kenya.

The police went to Kirawara when informed that a large crowd was gathering.

When a man was arrested and placed on a police lorry the crowd chanted and marched to- wards the police.

The police commander then released him and asked the crowd to disperse.

They continued to approach and he ordered part of the force to fire at their feet.
