The local Soccer League takes a breather this week-end as the Senior Division. matches reach the end of the first round,
expect, pull them through this match with Army by a narrow margin.
Only interesting match will be that between Army and Sing Tao tomorrow at Sookanpoo,
Second-placed Kitchee, who together with South China are the only unbeaten teams in the Senior Division, will have easy opponents in Police and should overtake" South China for the League leadership before the week-end is over.
Both Army and Sing Too fared none too well in their last week's matches and Rlready showed signs of being stale. With already two defeats, Army's chances of winning the tile are now remote, particu- larly with both South China and Kitchee now getting into their stride. but they will have, to shake out of that lethargie feel- ing if they hope to keep in the running.

TODAY'S GAMES
Positional Planning
By HORACE LINDRUM
M
(World Professional Snooker Champion) Last week I left you with a Snooker position useful for practising cue-ball control--the most casential factor in illinrds and Snooker. The diagram this week shows the positions I would play for in order to take all the balls. Firstly, the Red nearest to the euo-ball would bo potted into the top left-hand corner pocket with the right speed to leave the cus-ball for a three-quarter cuo position (marked X1) on the Black' into the top right-hand corner pocket..
Assuming the Black has been potted, the cule-ball would then make contact with the fed on the right-hand side cushion end klek it over the right-hand. middle pocket, The cue-ball would now be at the position marked X2, and from here I would trickle the Red ball la
easy Black into the top left- hand corner pocket. This is taken from approximately post- tion Xi1.

Still proceeding according to plan, a sław stroke would now be necessary, from position marked X4, to pot the Red lato the middle pocket and gel into position for the Pink (X6). The Pink can then be potted into the left-hand centre pocket for the purpose of get, tini it re-placed on its own spot,

The screw shot is only con- quered by practising a shorter. grip on the butt of the cue and

Make sure your tip is in good condition for the stun and screw shots us will give you con- Adenco and you will find your efforts, not so laborious. Brute
force is unwarranted to quer these strokes; as in games the secret is timing.
