CEASE FIRE, THEN WITHDRAWAL OF ALL FOREIGN FORCES
United Nations, Oct. 17.
Poland today proposed an immediate end to the Korean war with the return of all prisoners to their homelands "in accordance with internation- al norms".
The Polish Foreign Minister, Mr Stanislaw Skrezeszewski, present→ ed to the United Nations General Assembly a resolution which called for the withdrawal from Korea of all foreign forces, including the Chinese Communists, within two to three months after a cease-fire.
It also urged unification of Korea "by the Koreans themselves” under, the supervision of a Commission comprising "all parties" concerned and other coun- tries, including those who did not participate in the war in Korea.
It was the first Soviet-bloc reaction to Mr Dean Acheson's policy speech of Thursday, in which he pledged the United Nations forces to fight in Korea until "an armistice on just terms has been achieved". It was also the first concrete plan for Korean peace to go before this year's Assembly.
