Binple Tate and Bonnie Italo tn, *ALL HALE.* weekly rovuc by C. Wigram. produced by

Caroline Braga is to give a piano recital on Wednesday evening at 9 o'clock. Her perform- ance consists of four pieces: Prelude and Fugue No. 41 in A Flat Major by Bach; Grieg's Opus 19, No. 3 entitled "At the Carnival"; Prelude in G Flat Major, Opus 23, No. 10 by Rachmaninoff; and "The North Dragon-fly" by Palmgren.

In "Palace of Varieties"—the first of a series of BBC programmes-on Friday night at 8.30, the artists tarn back the clock to the days when music-hall was a convivial, full-blooded affair with any amount of give-and-take between artists and audience. Songe go with a swing, humour is hearty, and if the public wishes metaphorically to let its back, hair down, then it is welcome to do so.
