COURT HEARS FURTHER
LEGAL ARGUMENTS
Further legal submissions in support of a motion by the Government of Indonesia were made when hearing of a three-cornered dispute of ownership of a steamer continued before Mr Justice Reece, Puisne Judge, in the Admiralty Jurisdiction of the Supreme Court this morning.
The motion asked the Court to set aside writs
of summons and all subsequent proceedings in two simultaneous actions for ownership of the steamer Tasikmalaja (3,569 tons gross) now lying under arrest at Kowloon Docks.
One of six grounds upon which the motion had been brought claimed that the actions impleaded the Government of the Republic of Indonesia - a foreign State. which was unwilling to submit to the jurisdic- tion of the Hongkong Supreme Court.
